Proposal at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, IN at Sunset
When Charlie contacted me about proposing at Coxhall Gardens, I quickly grew excited because not only is it a beautiful park in Carmel, Indiana but the legacy that Jesse and Beulah Cox left behind. Nestled in the West side of Carmel, Coxhall Gardens is a 125 acre park that includes a lake, biking trails, an outdoor music pavilion, the infamous Coxhall mansion, and much more! A special place to C & M, and myself, being an IU alumni.
Watching the weather closely, every day, sometimes multiple times a day after Charlie contacted me, hoping and praying that it wouldn't rain on their special day. This time of year in Indiana, as we all know, is highly unpredictable when it comes to the weather. While we lucked out with no rain, it was quite chilly with super high winds that made it feel like 30 F.
However, nothing was going to stop this proposal from happening. Not even the other proposal that was happening right in front of me, just minutes before C & M arrived to Coxhall Gardens.
The sky was turning magenta with a blend of burnt orange, as the sun slowly melted onto the horizon line. What could be more perfect than a sunset proposal overlooking the lake? C guided M to the bridge that overlooked the cool, crisp, and indigo colored lake and got down on one knee. The surprised look on her face said it all, she quickly fell to her knees and huddled over him, tears flowing, as he placed the ring on her finger. It was an intimate, thoughtful, and romantic proposal that was so special to be a part of.
As the sun dipped below the horizon line, the sky shifted into a soft and hazy periwinkle, as twilight set in. C & M were brave enough to take a few photos after the proposal and here are the results.
